HOB started from a straightforward frustration. Good consumer electronics are made in enormous quantity, and most of what reaches a buyer arrives with claims nobody verified, packaging nobody thought about, and no support once the box is open. The gap is not manufacturing. It is the layer between the factory and the person who ends up living with the thing.

That layer is what HOB does. We take the brief seriously, we write the specification down, we check the batch, and we put our own mark on the result. The software division applies the same thinking to a different problem: products built small and deliberately, and made to enrich, so that someone finishes a session with a qualification, a book, a finished piece of work, or an evening well spent rather than an hour gone.

The ventures sit alongside both. Teaching, literature and comics each carry their own name, because a mark that covers a diploma programme and a power bank asks a buyer to trust one thing on the strength of another.

The company is directed day to day by its founder, with specialist work brought in per project rather than carried as permanent headcount.
