A small desktop machine that reports what it is doing on its own front panel, rather than only inside an operating system.
A small form factor desktop in a machined aluminium chassis, specified on thermal behaviour under sustained load and on acoustic floor rather than on headline benchmark figures.

The brief starts with what the machine sounds like on a desk at hour three, not what it scores in a thirty second run. The front panel exists so the state of the machine is readable without opening anything, and it is specified as part of the chassis rather than added to it.
Brief — Chassis volume, thermal budget and what the front panel is for are fixed before a supplier is approached.
Specification — Cooling geometry, panel materials and the display’s refresh behaviour are written into the order, not left to the factory.
Quality control — Units are sampled on noise under sustained load, and on whether the front panel agrees with the operating system.

The system
One core, several seats.
The core carries the computer. The
seats carry the ports, the power and the position on the desk. What actually changes between
a desk, a monitor arm and a bag is rarely the processor.

Modular where it ages
Memory is socketed, the drive is a full length M.2 2280, and the radio is a card rather than a solder joint. The parts that fall behind first are the parts that come out.

A seat that outlives the core
Every seat carries a standard USB4 host port beside the HOB contact. Undocked it is still a dock for any laptop, including after we stop making cores. The seat geometry is published rather than held closed.

Noise is a specification
Acoustic floor under sustained load is written into the order and read on the front panel. A machine that is quiet in a review and loud an hour later has not met the specification.

Ask the machine, not the task manager.
Every line is drawn around the same
assistant. It is asked for out loud, it resolves what it can on the device in front of you,
and it answers with the thing rather than a conversation about the thing.

HW·08 · concept, not a photographAsk · Understand · Act
Ask — Ask the machine what it is doing, in the words you would use out loud.
Understand — Load, temperature and power are read on the machine itself, not in an account somewhere else.
Act — The fan curve follows the work, and the panel says so while it happens.
A concept drawing, not a shipping specification. Nothing in this line has been manufactured under the mark.

Desktop
A desktop is judged here on what it does after an hour, not in a thirty second benchmark. The chassis, the cooling and the front panel are specified together, because a quiet machine is a geometry problem before it is a component list.
