HOB Harry O. Bear

Division · Hardware

Seven lines, one standard.

HOB hardware is white label. We define the brief, select and specify the product, run it through quality control, and bring it to market under our own mark. What changes between categories is the test criteria, not the standard.

Flagship · HB·001

HOB AI Bot.

The one line drawn in full. An AI assistance device in a bear form factor, specified end to end on drawing HB·001.

HW·08

A small desktop machine that reports load, temperature and power on its own front panel. Judged on thermal behaviour under sustained load and on acoustic floor, not on peak benchmark figures.

A small form factor desktop in a machined aluminium chassis, specified on thermal behaviour under sustained load and on acoustic floor rather than on headline benchmark figures.

HW·09

A screen and a dial on the desk, so the assistant is reached for rather than launched. Judged on latency from touch to response and legibility at arm’s length, not on screen size.

A desk terminal with a tilted display and a rotary control, specified on latency from touch to response and on legibility at arm’s length rather than on screen size.

Concepts

One assistant, seven lines.

The lines above are what is ordered and checked today. These are what they are being drawn towards: the same assistant in every one of them, asked for out loud, resolving what it can on the device rather than in an account somewhere else.

Portable monitors, design render
HW·01 · Portable monitors What it is plugged into is read on the panel; duplicate, extend or second screen follows.
Audio, design render
HW·02 · Audio Voice is separated from the noise floor on the bud itself; level and isolation follow the room.
Power and charging, design render
HW·03 · Power and charging Cell state is read on the adapter, and current is shaped to the battery rather than to a timer.
Peripherals, design render
HW·04 · Peripherals Intent is resolved before the application sees it, and arrives as ordinary input.
Wearables, design render
HW·05 · Wearables Signals are interpreted on the band, and only the summary leaves it.
Smart home, design render
HW·06 · Smart home The routine is held locally, so it is still there when the network is not.
Storage, design render
HW·07 · Storage Contents are indexed on the enclosure, and the answer is the file rather than a page of results.
Desktop, design render
HW·08 · Desktop A small desktop machine that reports what it is doing on its own front panel, not only inside an operating system.
Desk terminal, design render
HW·09 · Desk terminal A screen and a dial on the desk, so the house assistant is something you reach for rather than something you launch.

Concept drawings, not shipping specifications and not photographs. The only line specified end to end is HB·001; the assistant itself is HOB AI, entered as SW·06.

Quality control

What a batch has to pass.

Criteria are set per category at specification stage and do not soften between the sample and the batch.

01

Electrical safety

Protection circuitry, insulation and thermal cutoff verified on powered products before any batch is accepted.

02

Stated performance

Capacity, wattage, runtime and transfer figures measured against samples. If a figure cannot be reproduced, it does not go on the box.

03

Materials and finish

Housing tolerance, cable strain relief and coating durability checked, because these are what fail first in real use.

04

Packaging and documentation

Contents, markings and warranty terms confirmed to match the product actually shipped.

For partners

Working with us.

We work with manufacturers who are comfortable with written specification and batch level checks, and with distributors and retailers who want a line they can support after the sale.

If you are approaching from either side, the fastest route is an enquiry that says which category you deal in and what volume you typically move. We will send the relevant line card and take it from there.
